As part of our PADI Instructor Training program, we also offer Emergency First Response Instructor training. This is an intensive course, which results in an internationally recognised qualification to teach first aid not just to divers but the general public as well. All PADI Instructor trainees must complete this course, but it is open to everyone, at all levels and including non-divers. It offers the potential to run your own business conducting first aid training, a useful additional revenue for dive instructors, in particular in the off-season. If you would like to learn more about becoming a PADI dive instructor, check out our page on PADI Instructor Developement Course or contact us to discuss.
A certified Emergency First Response Instructor is qualified to teach Primary & Secondary first aid, including basic life skills such as Rescue Breathing, CPR, treatment of choking and serious bleeding. You may also teach use of AED (automated external defibrillator) and emergency oxygen. Use of emergence oxygen is of course a vital component of the PADI Rescue Diver course. You may also choose to gain a qualification in Manual Handling training, another useful string to an instructor's bow. Furthermore, you will be certified to teach first aid for adults, children and infants, giving you a huge variety of potential markets for your new business.
Our EFRI course runs over 2 days, which can be consecutive or spread over several evenings. As with all of our courses, we offer a flexible schedule and can run the course at weekends, evenings or mid-week days to suit you. Our experienced instructor training will help you develope your skills over the course, both first aid and teaching skills. As a result, the course is open to everyone, regardless of whether you have previous experience in training or first aid. In addition to the skill and knowledge development, you will gain useful in-sight into the business and market opportunities available after you qualify.
