PADI Instructor Exam in Ireland

trinity sports centre pool for PADI instructor exam

What is the PADI Instructor Exam?

The one and only way you can become a PADI Scuba Diving Instructor is to pass a PADI Instructor Exam or IE.  These are held through-out the world and are run by PADI staff. This guarantees a standard high quality through-out the world and impartiality.  The PADI IE is the most demanding and comprehensive dive instructor evaluation process in the dive industry. The IE evaluates your dive knowledge, teaching ability, skill levels, understanding of PADI and professionalism.  Because PADI take charge of the evaluation process, we can concentrate on helping you become the best dive instructor you can be.  Our Instructor Training is run at a relaxed pace and low stress environment where you can develop skills and knowledge not just to pass the IE but to be successful PADI Pro Divers.

Can I do the PADI IE in Ireland ?

PADI choose locations and testing environments for the IE that are conductive for assessing the candidates abilities.  You can view a list of scheduled IE's on the PADI member site or you can contact us for details.  There are usually 2 Instructor Exams held in Ireland; Dublin early in the dive season and Tralee towards the end of the year.  Regardless of the location, the IE is run by PADI and can be attended by any candidate who has completed an Instructor Development Course within the next 12 months, regardless of where they did that course.  Start your Instructor training with us any time and get ready for one of the Irish PADI Exams

How can I succeed in the IE

Everyone at an IE is anxious, the key to success in the Exam is preparation. get as much time as possible practicing in the pool, open water and classroom.  If you have difficulty with dive theory, consider a course that offers 1-1 tuition.  The IDC course can be completed in 9 days, but we include weeks of extra revision classes and practice in our Instructor Development CourseLook for an experienced and active Course Director.  Our IDC course is run by Clive Albon, one of PADI's top dive educators and a Platinum Course Director.  Try to do your IDC and IE at home where you have the support of family and friends; it's a stressful enough process without being alone.
